Canal Narrow Boat Holiday on Mealy Amazon Sun 4 Aug 24 for 7 Nights for 6 People starting at Anderton Marina (CW9 6AJ), Cheshire, , Anderton Marina is located near to the popular market town of Northwich and in close proximity to Chester, Liverpool and Manchester in north west England.  The Marina enjoys a spectacular location that benefits from the convergence of the Weaver and Dane Rivers and is ideal for cruising the Trent & Mersey Canals and The Cheshire Ring., , Located close to the marina is the Anderton Boat Lift, one of the seven wonders of the waterways. The lift was constructed in 1875 and was a first of its kind.  The Anderton lift was closed for a time due to disrepair, but re-opened again in 2002 after an extensive restoration process. If you plan to use the lift you will need to book a slot., , During your 7 day holiday, depending on your chosen route and amount of time you want to travel; you could visit Chester, Ellesmere Port, or Manchester., Unfortunately, we are unable to take our allocated time on our 6 berth narrowboat (a 4 berth may also be available at the same time) this year so we are offering the week for sale.  It's a great holiday, good fun for everyone and can be very relaxing too, ideal for a family or two couples. One thing for sure is that on a narrowboat holiday, you slowwwww right down! This is your escape from fast cars, the busy roads, overflowing shopping centres and the ubiquitous PC. Instead you experience the wonders and great heritage of the waterways. Mother Nature goes about her business as the days and the seasons change. Those incomparable and hospitable canal side pubs offering excellent food and fellow boaters passing the time of day. All of this at only 2 - 3 miles per hour! It has a quiet water-cooled diesel engine with simple to use controls., Features : There is full radiator central heating on the boat. A 200 gallon water tank supplies the hot and cold running water. There is a double-filtered drinking water system., Saloon : Radio/CD player; colour TV/DVD player., Kitchen : The kitchen is fully equipped and has a 4 burner gas cooker with grill and oven, microwave, refrigerator; sink and drainer; saucepans; cooking utensils; crockery and cutlery appropriate for the number of berths. There is plenty of storage space and work surfaces., Berths : As this is a 6 berth boat, there is a fixed double at the front of the boat, in its own private room. There is also a dinette/double conversion at the rear and two single beds in the centre., Bedding : Freshly laundered bedding is supplied for each crew member, as per your requirements. Additional bedding is available upon request. Towels are also supplied - one medium sized towel per crew member, and one hand towel per bathroom., Bathroom : The bathroom comes complete with a wash hand basin, electronically operated flush toilet, and shower or hip bath/shower. There is an extra toilet in the centre of the boat. A 240v shaver socket is also available., Electric : The 1200w inverter supplies 240v electricity to certain appliances and to a socket on the boat. (Please note: if you decide to use any of your own electrical appliances, you do so at your own risk)., Welcome Pack: Includes 1 bottle of washing up liquid, 1 dishcloth, 1 tea towel, 1-floor cloth, toilet roll & bin liner. Helmsman's waterproofs & umbrella., Additional Information: Tuition, and buoyancy aids, helmsman's waterproofs, are supplied free of charge., This is a great holiday for children and suitable life jackets are provided for them., Cruising is subject to guests accepting the compulsory tuition, which is only available on check-in days (max 1 hour).and is given by a member of the marina staff before you set off, all very helpful and friendly., In exceptional circumstances you may not be able to cruise if the Marina staff are not confident in your ability to use the Narrowboat, or if you have young children who need to be supervised and there is not a minimum of 2 adults., You will need a minimum of two fit and active adults, or one adult and a child over the age of 16 years for the boat. Unfortunately, if on arrival you do not meet these requirements you will not be allowed to cruise and will be offered the choice of remaining in the marina.  If you arrive at the marina with more than four people you will not be allowed to occupy the boat and there will be no refund available.  Please be aware that children, of whatever age - including babies - count as part of this compliment., Dogs are welcome of course (max 2), but there is a charge (£30 each) payable directly to the marina., , UTILITY CHARGE AND DEPOSIT, , A Utility Fee is payable on arrival;, The fee for a 4 berth boat is currently £69 per week or part thereof., A fuel deposit is payable on arrival - this fee is currently £90 per week or part thereof., A Security and Damage deposit of £500 is payable on arrival. This is taken as a credit card swipe and is refundable subject to the boat being returned clean, in good order and on time., Alternatively an optional and highly recommended damage waiver of £50 is offered which negates the need for the security deposit. This does not cover negligence.
