If you have ever felt like building a vintage hifi system you won’t find much better than what I'm offering at this price and all you need to do is add your own source(s)., , I am offering a 1980 A&R Cambridge A60 integrated amplifier with a matched pair of early 1970’s Acoustic Research AR7 acoustic suspension bookshelf loudspeakers, they have consecutive serial numbers, complete with 600 mm tall Target stands and a set of less old but “vintage era” type loudspeaker cables., , In May 2022 the amplifier was sent to Amplifier Repair Services and was treated to their full overhaul service with their optional capacitor upgrade and I also had them replace the old volume potentiometer with a new ALPS blue, before and after images are shown. The amplifiers inputs are all DIN sockets so I will include a DIN to RCA converter plug and a short DIN to RCA interconnect cable., , These speakers have a strong following and can still command a good price. I have had them for around 10 years but never got round to smartening them up so they’re in good condition but are not perfect, the cabinets could use some TLC. However the previous owner had done the important work and had made a good job of replacing the original foam bass cone surrounds which had corroded, something that they all did with time., , The Belden 9497 speaker cables have 16 AWG tinned copper, multistrand conductors, are around 3-4 metres long and terminated at the amplifier end with 4 mm banana plugs and bare wire ends for connecting to the speakers, this is a good quality well respected cable., , This is a great system that performs very well having a full, dynamic, open and detailed sound that would satisfy most listeners, or as my mother would have said it has a “lovely tone”. I can demo it with vinyl or streaming. You would be surprised!, , I am looking for £400, or very nearest offer. Absolutely for collection only.
