Since purchase 6 years ago I’ve put half a dozen films through it using only the Voigtlander 15mm and it’s been perfect - an amazing machine which is now over 70 years old., , I’m advertising the camera body with details of a Voigtlander 15mm which are also listed separately on Gumtree. All the elements in this listing are priced for individaul sale., , , Leica iiiC Body £180, , Used but in good mechanical condition., , Cosmetically:, Some corrosion pitting on the top and base plate., A few scratches and scuffs., Vulcanite leatherette is all intact., A slight dent above the VF which doesn’t affect function., , Mechanically:, All speeds appear and sound accurate - shutter curtains are snappy and appear smooth. I’ve not conducted a film test accross the entire shutter range but shooting sunny 16 at 100th / 200th / 500th of a sec have been spot on and consistent. No curtain bounce or unevenness in curtain traverse., Film advance / cocking is smooth and image spacing on negs is even., I haven’t tested the camera with a flash., , Optics and Focus:, VF is clear. RF window is also clear and the split image is contrasty and registration is perfect when ‘’in focus’’. I’ve not used the Summitar it came with (only the Voigtlander 15mm which needs only guesstimate focusing!) so I can’t vouch for RF accuracy. The RF window focus lever next to the rewind knob is smooth and focuses the RF window accordingly., , The 5cm Summarite pictured has been sold, the Voigtlander 15mm and Viewfinder is still for sale for £350.
